My son asked me what one of his cards was worth.
I didn't know, so I looked it up. Then I looked it up in a second app, and a third, and got three different answers — none of which matched what the card had actually sold for that week.
Then he asked again. A player had a big game, or turned up on TV doing something ridiculous, and he wanted to know what his card was doing now. Same card, new week, same question.
That's when it clicked. He didn't want an appraisal. He wanted to keep track of it — a running record of his cards, and a number he could actually check for himself. A ledger.
So I built one. For him first. Everything else in here grew out of that.
